A man was arrested on suspicion of murder on 29 July at about 9.30pm on the corner of Rocky and Raymond streets in Yeoville.
According to Thabo Malatji, spokesperson for Yeoville Police Station, the police were on a routine patrol when they were stopped by a group of people who informed them a person had been stabbed. “The police called an ambulance to take the victim to hospital, where he later died.
“A search for the 24-year-old suspect continued and he was located in a dilapidated building a few blocks away and was arrested.”
He said the suspect was detained at Yeoville Police Station and is expected to appear in Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court soon facing a charge of murder.
