WATCH: Residents make their mark

ROSEBANK - Rosebank residents cast their vote

Rosebank Primary School was the venue for Ward 117 voters.

Music teacher, Ruth Spector, and others who have been waiting a long time to finally cast their vote this year, showed up early to queue. At around 12.30pm about 600 voters had showed up an made their mark at the station. According to IEC officials on site, the station was anticipating more than 2 000 registered voters.

Spector said she was glad that the queue was that long as it meant that people were voting and making informed decisions.

And at Rosebank Bowling Club, Ward 90 voters also came in their numbers. ANC candidate for the ward, Joy Coplan said the ward had never seen that many voters, “I have been overwhelmed by this election.”

Lethabo Mothabeng, a first-time voter said her support system helped her through the scary process. “Your vote still counts, whether you belong to a political party or not.”
