67 minutes to rejuvenate Rosebank Park

ROSEBANK – Colleagues work together for the greater good.

Rosebank Mall centre management took to Rosebank Park to do their bit for Mandela Day.

According to Ronko Magana, Rosebank Mall operations manager, all 20 staff members who worked at the park sacrificed their one-hour lunches to honour and respect the wishes of the late former President Nelson Mandela.

“We are here to show the community that we care and are willing and able to participate in anything that will benefit us all,” said Magana.

“We are here to carry the torch forward and to be a good example to others.” He added that this was their small way of making a difference by cleaning and rejuvenating the park.

Gaby Peters, the mall’s marketing manager was thrilled to be part of this experience and to spend 67 minutes doing a good deed that would benefit many. “The team wants to give back to the community to commemorate Mandela’s memory,” she said.

“We chose this park specifically because it’s adjacent to the Rosebank Mall and it’s a public park. We want to see it look better.”

Peters added that they had organised a team of grass cutters and leaf blowing machine operators to do a professional job. “We want to make a difference by cleaning the park. Picking up all litter, trimming the grass and making it neat.”
