Kingsmead College helps spring clean at Ikhaya Lomusa Home

MELROSE – Kingsmead College pupils show that they care for the community.

Pupils from Kingsmead College took some time out of their learning schedule on 2 July along with their parents and staff from the college to go to the Ikhaya Lomusa Home in Malboro Gardens.

They assisted by cleaning the home’s gardens and residence. Armed with rubber gloves, mops and washing cloths, the pupils and parents cleaned the windows, re-organised the library, ironed clothes, washed the car and bus and weeded the garden. A plumber was also taken along to do some repairs in the bathrooms.

“Thanks to everyone who gave up their time to help. We are hoping to return to the home later in the year to do more work in the gardens and give some assistance with the lighting at the home,” commented Shamila Chiman, a staff member at the college.
