Suspects stab victim before robbing him in Marlboro

BRAMLEY – Rhodesfield resident robbed of cash and stabbed in Marlboro.

A Rhodesfield resident was left traumatised and injured following a robbery in Marlboro recently.

The incident unfolded as the man was making his way from the garage when three suspects accosted him. Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for Bramley Police Station, explained that the first suspect approached him and kicked him.

“As the victim tried to ascertain the reason for the attack, a second suspect allegedly joined in and stabbed the victim with a knife,” Maphakela said.

“The two then demanded money and jewellery from the victim and, at that point, a third suspect entered the fray and took the victim’s valuables.”

The three men then made off with the valuables, which included a wallet, bank cards, a wedding ring and a driver’s license. Maphakela confirmed that a case of robbery with a weapon other than a firearm was opened at Bramley Police Station.

“The police are still investigating the matter and no arrests have been made at this stage, but we are looking for the three men,” he said.

The case continues.
