WATCH: Missing car dealer’s court case drags on

JOBURG – Family appeals for return of abducted son who has been missing since 7 December 2012.

The family of Nazeer Mohammed who has been missing for four years is losing patience with the constant court delays involving their son’s disappearance.

The case of the Johannesburg businessman continues to drag on, as it was once again postponed at the Johannesburg Magistrates’ court.

The sentencing of Robert Nembaka and Rotshidzwa Netshiavha, who were convicted in November last year on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle (the vehicle belonged to Mohammed) and theft, has been postponed eight times this year alone. The case has now been moved to 7 July to allow social workers enough time to complete their reports on the accused.

Mohammed was last seen at his car dealership on Jules Street in Jeppestown on 7 December, 2012.

His family was once again left frustrated by yet another postponement. His sister, Zaheera said they were disappointed by the court system in the country and that the family felt let down. “The case has been going on for too long, it’s terrible. It’s taking so long to sentence them,” she said.

Mohammed’s mother, Shaieda Seepye said the past four years had been difficult for them and all they wanted was closure. “My son was a breadwinner and was taking care of us. At that time, we did not even apply for pensions and now we are forced to apply because we can’t make ends meet,” said the disheartened mother.
