Woman arrested for stabbing neighbour in Kew

KEW – Woman arrested for allegedly stabbing neighbour repeatedly

The Bramley police recently arrested a woman accused of repeatedly stabbing her neighbour.

The shocking incident allegedly unfolded in Kew in the early hours of the morning when the victim returned home from a party in Alexandra.

According to Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for Bramley Police Station, when the victim got home, she noticed that the window in her room had been removed. “As she was questioning what happened, the neighbour came to her room and accused her of making a noise,” he explained.

“The woman then proceeded to slap the victim and a fight ensued between the two, allegedly resulting in the neighbour producing a knife and repeatedly stabbing the victim.”

At this point, a third person entered the room and managed to grab the knife from the woman and stop the fight. Maphakela confirmed that the woman sustained injuries to her upper body and was taken to the Alex clinic for treatment.

“A case was opened at the Bramley Police Station and the accused was arrested and charged with assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm,” he said.

The accused has appeared in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court where she was granted bail. The case continues.
