Police nab 29 for offences in Bramley

BRAMLEY – Dozens arrested by the Bramley police for various crimes.

The Bramley police arrested 29 people in recent weeks for various offences committed within the precinct.

The arrests were for crimes ranging from theft, the possession of drugs and rape to drunken driving. Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for the Bramley Police Station, said one suspect was arrested for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm while another was nabbed for rape.

“The police also managed to arrest 20 people for drunken driving, one suspect for possession of drugs and a third person for housebreaking with the intent to steal,” he said.

A further three suspects were arrested for theft, one for a hijacking incident and another for common assault. Maphakela confirmed that those arrested were detained at the Bramley Police Station where they were charged for the various offences.

“The arrested suspects have all since made an appearance in court to face the charges brought against them,” he added.
