UJW announces new head at recent AGM

HOUGHTON – The Union of Jewish Women elects new director at 84th Annual General Meeting in Houghton.

The Johannesburg branch of the Union of Jewish Women Johannesburg recently announced the appointment of its first executive director at a recent Annual General Meeting hosted by the organisation.

The new director, Cindy Kree, is now responsible for the day-to-day running of the organisation and took over from Diane Levine, who held the position for more than three years.

Also present at the meeting was guest speaker, Lynette Saltzman, who spoke in detail about the Dis-Chem Foundation and its origins. Saltzman also highlighted the impact the foundation had on the lives of many people and encouraged their continued support of the union.

Other issues discussed at the meeting were the ongoing projects the union was working on, including the Kosher mobile meals, the house and garden circle and the adult education programme, among many others.

The UJW hosted its 84th AGM at the organisation’s offices in Oak Street in Houghton.
