Pupils injured in school bus crash

WAVERLY - . upwards of 30 school children have been injured this morning after a collision involving a school bus and a light delivery vehicle on the corners of Lennox and Campbell in Waverley - north of Johannesburg.

According to EMER-G-MED. upwards of 30 school children have been injured this morning after a collision involving a school bus and a light delivery vehicle on the corners of Lennox and Campbell in Waverley – north of Johannesburg.

At about 7:30am EMER-G-MED dispatched multiple ambulances as well as response vehicles to the scene.

It’s believed that the delivery vehicle stopped at the stop street and when taking off failed to see the oncoming bus due to the sun’s glare. The two vehicles then collided.

Paramedics arrived on the scene to find that three of the children had sustained moderate injuries, while upwards of 25 others sustained minor injuries. The patients were treated for their injuries before being transported to various nearby hospitals.

Local authorities were on the scene to investigate further.

EMER-G-MED would like to thank the members of the public who assisted in calming the children. And a HUGE thank you to Ms Cheryl Illos for the donation of cereal for the injured children.
