This will allow ORT SA to extend its impact on upskilling South Africans, making them employable with an emphasis on 21st-century skills which are now required for future careers,” she said.

Rosenberg further explained that with the new renovations, the organisation can now focus on creating exciting and thrilling opportunities and reaching out more to the community.

The Skills and Enterprise Academy will cater for accredited small business training, including mentoring.

An IT Academy will offer end-user computer qualifications, bridging programmes, robotics, and coding.

“We will have state-of-the-art computer facilities which will be able to cater for about 50 people at a time, which means a greater reach. I am so excited for the completion and the launching of the academy,” said Marcelle Ravid, communications and marketing manager of ORT SA.

According to the World Economic Forum Report on the future of jobs, this fourth industrial revolution, together with socioeconomic and demographic factors is impacting the labour market across the globe, resulting in the creation of new categories of jobs.
