Cops pounce on suspects carrying heroin and dagga worth R20k in Hillbrow

HILLBROW – Three suspects, found with over 13kg of dagga and heroin with a street value of R20 000, were recently nabbed by the Hillbrow police.

The suspects were arrested on 21 April at approximately 3pm during a stop-and-search operation by police in the area.

Sergeant Mduduzi Zondo, spokesperson for the Hillbrow Police Station, explained that while the police were carrying out the operation, they came across the three men. “The police stopped the suspects and searched them, managing to find drugs in one suspect’s bag while the other two had drugs hidden on their person,” he said.

The suspects were arrested and detained at the Hillbrow Police Station, where they were charged with possession of dagga and other drugs.

Zondo confirmed that the men are expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrates’ court on 25 April.
