PARKVIEW - Victim Support Unit set up in Parkview/Rosebank precinct

Often when a person becomes a victim of crime it is a traumatic experience.

With this in mind, a Victim Support Unit was formed for the Parkview/Rosebank precinct. Sergeant Iris Phoko of Parkview Police Station said, “I want to inform community members about the unit. The unit will counsel victims of crimes.The unit is here to assist, and they can go to a victim’s house and offer counselling, or at the station.”

The unit is staffed by a group of trained volunteers who are dedicated to assisting victims of crime or those who have suffered trauma. They are contactable through either the Parkview or Rosebank police stations.

The unit will cover the following suburbs:

Parkview precinct – Clynton, Craighall, Craighall Park, Dunkeld West, Emmarentia, Glendadrienne, Greenside, Greenside East, Hurlingham, Hurlingham Gardens, Parkhurst, Parktown North, Parktown (west of M1), Parktown West, Parkview, Riepen Park, Roosevelt Park and Westcliff.

Rosebank precinct – Rosebank, Dunkeld, Parkwood, Forest Town and Saxonwold.
