A call for talent

JOHANNESBURG – Every year, the International Arts Talent Showcase helps local entertainers of all ages pursue their dreams, and now they’re calling for actors, singers, dancers and models to strut their stuff.

The Applause Rising Talent Showcase (Arts) is a family-owned and operated organisation that was founded by international talent scout, Kim Meyers, and the event is held every year in Orlando, Florida.

The International Arts Talent Showcase (IATS) is the South African leg of the arts organisation.

Arts is run by Elsubie Verlinden, founder of Just You Model and Artist Management and regional director for Arts in Africa. Verlinden saw a lack of opportunities for those who chase a career in the arts and so she teamed up with Meyers to bring her showcase to the African continent.

IATS is not a competition, it is a platform specifically created to allow people to showcase their talent locally, as well as give them the chance to travel abroad and receive an international education to help develop their skills.

Every year, Verlinden travels to South Africa to scout the best local talent, and auditions have already been held in Durban, Witbank and Bloemfontein, with further auditions taking place in Johannesburg, Potchefstroom and Cape Town.
