Following their first day defeat at the hands of Ben Vorster the local lads were looking to impress in front of their home crowd, which came out in their numbers to support this prestigious festival.

The Red Army was quick to get out of the blocks and looked the much better of the two teams in the opening stanza.

Kingswood came into the game at the back of a great performance as they hammered a hapless St Davids Marist Inanda team by 43-17 on the first day.

However they came unstuck against the red machine and they were made to pay for their costly errors in the second half.

The tightly contested encounter saw both teams go into the break deadlock on 0-0. The red machine came out firing from the break led by fly half Kalvin Mills who brilliant kicking game helped his team take control of the game.

After a great performance Mills said he was happy with the teams fight back following their lose on the first day.

“We kept our heads up as a team and we stuck together throughout the game,” he said.

When asked about their first game defeat the young fly half said, “A lot of the young stars were nervous it was a big game, but now that we are more relaxed we came out firing.”
