Residents warned against becoming house robbery victims

BRAMLEY - Residents get tips from the police to help avoid becoming victims of house robberies.

Bramley police are advising residents to make sure their doors and windows are closed before going to sleep to avoid becoming victims of house robberies.

This stern warning was issued by Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for Bramley Police Station, who explained that leaving the doors and windows open at night often lured suspects to houses.

“We understand that it’s hot and residents may wish to leave their doors and windows open during the day, but we appeal to residents to ensure they close them at night,” Maphakela said.

He added that leaving them open was how thieves gained access to the house.

Maphakela also reiterated that the police were doing their best to monitor various areas and ensure that suspects are brought to book.
