Bramley police on hunt for suspect following rape ordeal

MARLBORO – Bramley police are looking for a suspect accused of raping a woman repeatedly in Marlboro.

According to Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for Bramley Police Station, the shocking incident is said to have taken place after the woman and her friends were gambling.

“The victim alleges that while they were gambling, the suspect, who was also gambling nearby with his friends and is known to the victim, offered her money to gamble,” Maphakela said.

“The suspect then told her to follow him to his place to get the money and when they arrived there, he locked the door.”

When the victim asked the suspect why he had locked the door, the suspect then allegedly slapped and strangled her before forcing her to undress and then allegedly raping her.

Maphakela explained that the man is said to have raped the woman repeatedly throughout the night and despite her screams, she was unable to get help.

It is unknown how the victim escaped or how the ordeal ended.

“We are currently looking for the suspect and when he is apprehended, he will face rape charges for the incident,” he said.

The case continues.
