Parktown Girls’ hockey success

PARKTOWN – Parktown Girls held their heads high and their hockey sticks steadfast on 29 February as they took on Fourways High School in the final of the Summer 9s hockey league and managed to take the win with a score of 6–4

“They have been playing every Monday night for the last few weeks as extra pre-season training for the upcoming season in the second term,” said spokesperson for Parktown High School for Girls, Kerry Liss.

She continued to say that the final between Parktown and Fourways ‘displayed a high level of hockey’. “It was an extremely exciting match to watch. Our Parktown girls ran hard and pushed themselves to the level that it was clear which team wanted the win,” said Liss.

“With goals from Melissa Winter, Jordyn Isaac and Sabrina Knodl, and hard teamwork, we won the match 6–4.

“Well done to all the girls who have played Summer 9s this term, it has been a great head start for the season ahead.”
