Pikitup employees damage bins, resident concerned

FAIRMOUNT - A local resident who wishes to remain anonymous has expressed his frustration about the state of the Pikitup bins in Fairmount.

The resident, who lives in a complex on Bradfield Drive, said the bins are roughly handled when emptied.

The resident said, “When Pikitup collects rubbish, they do not put them [bins] back in a decent manner. They push them and slam them up against the walls of the complex which cracks and damages them.”

The resident added that it is time-consuming and difficult to request a new bin and it is unfair to expect residents to pay for new bins or take the time to request new ones when they are not at fault.

The resident has, however, e-mailed Pikitup and laid a complaint.

Oyedele said, “We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Kindly forward me the details required… so we can investigate this matter with the depot responsible for your area.”

Pikitup was approached for comment but had not responded by the time of publication.
