Take up your right to vote

ROSEBANK – In the current political climate in the country, it’s easy to feel discouraged about the various issues residents from all walks of life face.

Issues such as service delivery, education and basic human rights cannot be taken for granted and need to be fought for.

For South African citizens, the best way of ensuring that these issues are handled through competent leadership is to take up their patriotic duty of making sure they are registered to vote in their respective wards.

The date of the elections is yet to be finalised but it is speculated that it will take place in August.

The voter registration weekend for the upcoming municipal elections will be taking place on 5 and 6 March.

In this election, one can only vote where one is registered. Thus, anyone who has moved away from where they are registered needs to re-register at the nearest voting station, or they will have to return to the voting station where they are registered.

To check where you are registered online, go to www.elections.org.za and take a look at the area map to find your closest polling station.
