A call to unite against illegal dumping

PARKVIEW- A community member has called for community members to come together to stand against the illegal dumping in Parkview.

A concerned Parkview resident, Mark Roberts, has asked the community to come together to help eradicate the illegal dumping of building rubble along Carlow Street in Parkview.

“I witnessed a white tipper truck illegally dumping building rubble and I would like for us [community members] to try and follow up as to who owns the truck as well as the [name of the] driver of the truck.”

Roberts would like other concerned community members to brainstorm ideas on how to put a stop to the dumping and then e-mail him their ideas.

“If nothing is done to prevent the dumping now, it will only get worse and become an eyesore on the street. The people who are doing this need to be prosecuted,” Roberts said.

Upon witnessing the truck driver dumping illegally, Roberts approached the driver and asked what he was doing.

“When I asked him what he thought he was doing, I was told to ‘F off’ and this is one thing I won’t tolerate.”

Roberts said he was tired of people dumping refuse, computers and printers along this stretch of the road, and every weekend has to ask his gardener to spend most of the morning cleaning up the mess.
