13 injured in collision
PARKTOWN – Emergency services attended to a serious collision on the corner of Jan Smuts Avenue and Empire Road in which 13 people were injured.
According to Emer-G-Med spokesperson, Maxwell Cohen, the incident took place at about 8am this morning.
“It’s alleged that a taxi skipped a red traffic light and T-boned a car, causing the car to lose control and collide with a fence,” said Cohen.
“The patients were treated on scene before being transported to various nearby hospitals for further care.”
Metro police were on THE scene to investigate, and Superintendent Edna Mamonyane stated that she would report back with the findings of the investigation as soon as they were available.
