Caring for the caregivers

ROSEBANK – If it were not for the charitable efforts of numerous caring individuals, many more lives would be lost in the face of poverty, disability and abuse.

It is purely through the work of Good Samaritans that the neglected, unwanted and mistreated are given a brighter future to look forward to.

These success stories are often lauded for achieving positive results, as they should be, but it’s not often that a thought is spared for the actual caregivers who have made the transformation possible.

For this reason, the Nashua Children’s Charity Foundation decided that it was time to give back to the caregivers of the 72 charities they support by inviting a representative from each of these charities to be spoiled with lunch, gifts, and even the opportunity to meet current Miss South Africa, Liesl Laurie.

“We just wanted to say thank you to all our charities for taking care of children in need,” said spokesperson for the foundation, Karinda le Roux.

The entire event was sponsored by Nashua and the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
