Goodbye Malaria is an initiative of African entrepreneurs and is spearheaded by Nando’s co-founder, Robbie Brozin.
The foundation raises funds to support its Malaria Spray Prevention Programme in Mozambique and it has created the Mashozi Bear, with the help of skilled craftswomen, to raise funds and awareness of malaria this February.

It is for this reason that the Mashozi Bear, named after Kingsley Holgate’s late wife as a tribute to her inspirational work to fight malaria and uplift communities, celebrates her and Goodbye Malaria’s love for all things uniquely African.
Mashozi is not your average teddy bear because the creation and production of the teddies provide sustainable employment for upskilled women from the townships, and supports a women-owned small business in South Africa called Heartworks.

- Proceeds from each purchase are contributed to Goodbye Malaria’s Spray Programme which aims to eradicate Malaria in Mozambique by spraying each house to prevent the return of mosquitoes. This allows a mother and child to sleep a little easier, protected from malaria.
