9pm, 31 January:
Sergeant Mduzi Zondo of the Hillbrow Police has said Killarney Mall was evacuated on 31 January, after two separate messages were found written on bathroom mirrors within the mall.
While police did not find anything suspicious inside the mall, Zondo said police were still investigating and hoped to find out who wrote the messages.
Police were still at the scene at 9pm.
Initial report:
Zondo told the Rosebank Killarney Gazette that police were on scene and investigating.
Zondo said the mall alerted police, after seeing the threat written on a bathroom mirror in the mall.
Security company Vision Tactical confirmed the threat and told Rosebank Killarney Gazette that they were at the scene. Reports suggest the threat and evacuation occurred around 7.30pm on 31 January.
