The report confirms that there have been no reported incidents in South Africa where spiked oranges have been used for hijacking.

Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for Sandton police, said a taxi driver first showed him the image of the spiked oranges and implied that an incident may have occurred in Rustenburg.

He added that, so far, there have been no reports of such incidents taking place in Sandton or any of his other policing precincts.
