Torah Academy pupils do well

JOBURG - After obtaining 100 percent pass rate, an outstanding record was upheld at Torah Academy as matric pupils did themselves and the academy proud.

Top achievers of Torah Academy Boys’ High school include Shabsi Katz who obtained a total of seven distinctions in English, Afrikaans, mathematics, life orientation, Hebrew, history and physical science.

Zev Chaiton and Meir Rosendorff scooped up six distinctions. Adam Reich obtained five distinctions and Yitzchak Barouchi worked hard to obtain four distinctions.

At Torah Academy Girls’ High School, top achiever Gabriella Setzer walked away with a total of eight distinctions in English, Afrikaans, life orientation, mathematics, life sciences, physical science, history and Hebrew.

Bracha Singer obtained six distinctions. Keren Swartz and Batshevah Goldstuck each achieved five distinctions while Michal Gershuni and Shayna Rosendorff walked away with four distinctions.

Dean of Torah Academy, Rabbi Dovid Hazdan said, “The Torah Academy is proud of the outstanding achievements and results of its matriculating class of 2015. We congratulate the educators, and particularly the principals, Rebecca Sarchi and Rabbi Yossi Chaikin, for their commitment to realising the potential of each individual student at Torah Academy.”

Rabbi Hazda said Torah Academy is much broader than the achievement of the finest matric results. It inspires Jewish values, commitment to the Torah, self-discipline, work ethic, a love for learning, and appreciation and respect for all the diverse communities and affiliations which are represented at the academy.
