At about 7.45am on 7 December, one of the seven suspects tried to disarm one of the Fidelity security guards. Sergeant Mduduzi Zondo of Hillbrow Police Station said, “One of the suspects attempted to disarm the security guard, but failed to do so. The security overpowered him, leaving the suspect wounded in the leg.” The suspect was rushed to hospital where he is under police guard.
Hillbrow police managed to arrest three other suspects.
Zondo said, “Together with the injured suspect, four suspects have been arrested for the attempted robbery.”
Hillbrow police are on the lookout for the other three suspects who fled the scene.
