Chris Rock accused of child trafficking
SANDHURST – A British newspaper has reported that actor Chris Rock is being investigated by the Hawks for alleged child trafficking after he illegally adopted and raised a South African child.
The Daily Mail reported in an exclusive article that the star and his soon to be ex-wife, Malaak Compton-Rock, took the child to the United States on a tourism visa seven years ago, after Rock met the child’s father at the Saxon Hotel in 2008.
The child’s legal status has come under the spot-light since Rock announced that he and Compton-Rock will be getting divorced.
South African Department of Home Affairs escalated the investigation to the Hawks after it was found that the child was never listed as a prospective adoptee.
Compton-Rock is currently in the process of formally adopting the seven-year-old child.
