A punch to the face leads to arrest

KEW - A woman was recently arrested after she allegedly entered another woman's home without permission and assaulted her.

The victim, who resides in Kew, was sitting in her house at about 1.30pm on 1 November when, to her surprise, the 25-year-old suspect opened the door without knocking.

Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela of Bramley police said, “This fight ensued when the [woman] entered the home without permission from the owner.”

When the victim asked the suspect why she had barged in, the suspect replied that the victim had gossiped about her and did not respect her. The suspect then allegedly began hitting and punching the victim.

Maphakela said the victim sustained injuries to her face and body. The victim opened a case of assault and Bramley police later arrested the suspect.
