Time to shop for Xmas

PARKVIEW - Christmas market returns to Parkview.

The successful annual Parkview Charity Christmas Market is set to bowl its 12 000 expected visitors over for the ninth time in a row.

The market will take place from 27 to 29 November at the George Hay Park in Parkview and is expected to bring in over R800 000 for its various beneficiaries, adding to the R5 million already paid out to various causes.

Visitors to one of Joburg’s most anticipated annual events can expect a stylish champagne and oyster bar, various arts and crafts stalls, and entertainment from some of the best local artists, school choirs and jazz ensembles throughout the weekend.

It is a great time to go shopping for Christmas gifts and decorations or enjoy a great family outing. The different food stalls provide a variety of eating options to suit all palates, and the beer tent is equipped with a wide selection of beers and a TV featuring sporting shows.

The proceeds made from the market will go towards, among other initiatives, seven bursaries to local schools, individuals in need, as well as assist with funds to the ongoing maintenance of George Hay Park.

The Parkview Charity Christmas Market is made possible by a group of volunteers, the generous support of visitors and the local community and the sponsorship from companies such as Vodacom, Gearhouse, Prime Media, Radio Today, Cliff Central, Mix FM, ExpoGuys, Have to Need, Rovos Rail, Continental Outdoors, DeHoek, Transpaco, Ernie Blom Diamonds, Glasshouse Communication and Sanlam Wealth.
