Bramley police recover unlicensed firearm from suspects in Marlboro

MARLBORO – Three suspects allegedly linked to a house robbery in Marlboro were arrested by Bramley police.

 

The incident unfolded on 3 November at about 7am when two officers on duty received a complaint of a house robbery in the suburb.

According to Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for the Bramley police, when the officers arrived at the scene they saw the suspects running away from the house.

“The police then gave chase and managed to corner two suspects and recovered a 9mm pistol and two cellphones from the one suspect, while another officer continued to chase after the third suspect,” he said.

The officer apprehended the third man and allegedly recovered another firearm with ammunition, a cellphone and money.

Maphakela confirmed that the three men were arrested and charged with house robbery, possession of unlicensed firearms and the possession of suspected stolen property.

“The three have since appeared in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court and remain in custody until their next appearance on 10 November.”
