Radio interview of DA and ANC candidates for Ward 73

JOBURG - On radio station ChaiFM, presenter Chad Thomas interviewed contesting DA and ANC councillor candidates for Ward 73 on the show Corruption Busters on 2 November.

The post opened after Ward 73 councillor Marcelle Ravid resigned.

The DA’s Mia Snyman and ANC’s Philani Mbatha also fielded questions which were sent by SMS or on Twitter by the listeners.

The political debate was moderated by Thomas who said, “I think it is vital that in a true democracy transparency is shown and that the public has the opportunity to question their candidates for upcoming elections.”

By-elections will be taking place on 11 November to vote for the new Ward 73 councillor. Sidney Anolik is the Cope candidate.

The voting stations for the Ward 73 by-elections are as follows:

  • Houghton Primary School
  • Norwood Primary School
  • Killarney Country Club
  • Paterson Park Bowling Club opposite Norwood Police Station during the renovations of the Paterson Park Recreation Centre.

Voting times are between 7am and 9pm on 11 November.
