Good deed on 14th Street

ORANGE GROVE - While walking down 14th street in Orange Grove, the North Eastern Tribune came across Oliver Mutsu, a man who not only sell items to passersby, but also does his part in keeping this street clean and safe.

Mutsu has a little wooden house outside a property on 14th street where he sells sweets, cigarettes, vintage clothing for men and women, old books and vintage ornaments.

Mutsu has been living in Orange Grove for the past 12 years. He does not only sell his goods, but he also feels strongly about keeping the street safe and clean.

“Everyone knows me in this street, I am here every day,” said Mutsu.

When asked what made him start his shop on 14th street, he said that many years ago people used to walk passed his house to Linksfield Hospital.

“I saw a demand and started selling cool drinks and loose cigarettes.”

His hope is to one day make it in what he calls the ‘big world’.

His message to the community is that his plan every morning when waking up is to do good. Mutsu said, “I want to provide solutions to the needs of the community and I hope that everyone can trust me to look after 14th street.”
