Meet the Cope candidate for Ward 73

JOBURG - Following the recent resignation of Ward 73 councillor, Marcelle Ravid, the new by-elections for Ward 73 will be held on 11 November.

In line with this, the North Eastern Tribune would like the local community to meet Sidney Anolik, candidate for The Congress of the People (Cope) and a hopeful for the newly-opened position.

Anolik has been living in Orange Grove in Ward 73 for the past 15 years and has a background in sales and marketing. He would like to become actively involved in the community and to make a difference. Anolik said, “I live in the community and I see what happens on a daily basis, and I want to make a difference.

“I have noticed many problems, especially along Louis Botha Avenue, and if you are not on the ground with your people, how do you know what needs to be fixed and attended to?”

Anolik, who was approached by Cope just over a year ago, is a determined resident who is willing to make a change in the community and better the lives of residents.

Local community members can vote at Patterson Park on 11 November.
