In its fifth year, the calendar project is one of the organisation’s important fundraisers, providing much-needed support for animals waiting to be adopted and rehomed. The theme for the 2016 calendar is Best Friends.
Spokesperson of the organisation, Kylie Coleman said, “For pets, being part of a pack is key to their happiness. Thus, the need arose to use this year’s calendar project as a means to showcase this important, unbreakable bond. In essence, the 2016 Best Friends calendar highlights the power of adopting not only one, but two pets from a rescue organisation such as the Sandton SPCA.”
Emma O’Brien, manager of the calendar project said, “Not only would you be giving two wonderful animals a safe and loving environment to live in, but you would also be freeing up a place at a shelter for the next four-legged animal looking to be rescued, which is so important in today’s society.”
Coleman added, “Over R50 000 was raised at the event [to launch the calender], making the evening a howling success.”
The Best Friends calendars are now on sale and are available at R100 each, with full proceeds going towards supporting the work of the Sandton SPCA.
