What’s On in Jozi this weekend

JOHANNESBURG – It’s finally the weekend and there’s been a break in the heatwave, so it’s time to cool off and have a bit of fun!

Slide Jozi

Why not kick back, grab an inflatable and slide down West Street in the heart of Sandton? Slide Jozi is the coolest event in town – and the first of its kind to hit the City of Gold! West Street will be transformed into a 300m slide, with a cooling pool at the bottom and you get to ride all the way down!

Slide Jozi is happening on 17 October from 10am to 8pm on West Street, Sandton.

Wag-A-Walk

Tshwane SPCA will host a fundraising fun walk for four-legged friends and their human companions. All the money raised through entrance fees will go towards helping the organisation take better care of animals that have been abandoned, neglected or abused. There are two walking options available including a short, flat walk and a longer hike up to the top of the koppie. So grab your furry family and enjoy some exercise!

The Wag-A-Walk is happening on 18 October at Smuts House Museum, 53 Jan Smuts Avenue, Irene.

Registration for the walk is from 7am to 9am and after that you may walk whenever you like – it’s not a race! There will even be a lucky draw at 9.30am.

Register online and pay on the day.

Entry fee is R20 a person and R10 a dog.
