Police arrest 3 in Yeoville

YEOVILLE - A man was arrested on 25 September for possession of suspected stolen property and impersonating a police officer, while another was arrested for a fraudulent identity document and a woman was apprehended for trading liquor without a licence.

Constable Thabo Malatji of Yeoville police said, “Police were conducting a crime prevention operation and while on their tour of duty, a male was searched and a police-issue hand radio was found in his possession.”

According to Malatji, it is not yet known how the 38-year-old suspect got hold of the radio, however, it is hoped the means in which he obtained it will be established upon further investigation.

“A further two suspects were arrested – one for possession of an identity document suspected to be fraudulent, and one female was arrested for dealing liquor without a licence,” added Malatji.

According to Malatji, all three suspects are expected to appear in court soon.
