Artist prints headed to Jozi

PARKVIEW – The Artists' Press Limited Edition Print Pop Up Shop is headed back to Jozi in October after its popular debut in August last year.

The pop-up is a one-day event which offers Gauteng-based buyers the chance to buy a few goodies from the widest selection of prints on sale. The Artists’ Press is highly regarded for its work with local and international artists who are invited to collaborate with master printer Mark Attwood. However, this year, guests can expect some exciting new editions that have been added to the already superb mix of original artist prints.

The focus will mainly be on lithographs, monoprints and letterpress, but the full range of The Artists’ Press printmaking techniques will be on display as well. The works of more than 30 artists, including Anton Kannemeyer, Diane Victor, Sam Nhlengethwa, Willem Boshoff, Walter Oltmann, Johann Louw and Colbert Mashile will be available, as well as brand new prints from Claudette Schreuders, Conrad Botes, Karin Daymond, Judith Mason and Hanneke Benadé.

There will also be live music from The Runaway Train Cult and a small, but tasty, array of food trucks and drinks available onsite. Parents can chill out as there will be a free, supervised mono print activity for children of all ages, where, under the guidance of printmakers from The Artist Proof Studio, kiddies can take a shot at printmaking and take home whatever they make.

The Artists’ Press Limited Edition Print Pop Up Shop will be open on 3 October from 9am to 4pm at Parktown High School for Girls, 55 Tyrone Avenue, Parkview.
