Fresh veggies for hungry tummies

JOBURG - The Bambanani Community Centre was recently delighted to receive fresh produce from the Union of Jewish Women (UJW) Johannesburg, which initially received the donation from the King David School's Foundation.

King David School held its annual donors’ dinner, and parents of the pupils were encouraged to bring and donate an array of fruit and vegetables.

The school then kindly donated the vegetables to UJW, which then sent the produce on to the Bambanani Community Centre, an aftercare organisation which caters for 185 children in Johannesburg.

The centre, one of UJW’s charitable projects, caters to a range of children of different ages and from various backgrounds. At the centre, the children are fed, assisted with aftercare and given lots of love and emotional support.

For many of the children, the meal they receive at the centre is often their only one of the day.
