Domestic worker wanted by Parkview Police for an investigation

PARKVIEW - The Parkview Saps needs the community to help them find a key witness for a house robbery case.

After a recent house robbery that took place on Loch Avenue in Parktown West, Parkview police spokesperson Sergeant Lloyd Ramovha, has urged the community to make sure they have the relevant and proper documentation before employing anyone.

“The community can come to the client services if they are unsure of the documentation and we will help them verify the documents. In the house robbery that took place in Parktown West, we are in need of the community’s help to find the domestic worker who worked at the house so she can assist us with the investigation. Should you see her, please contact the Parkview Police,” said Ramovha.

According to Ramovha, the domestic worker’s name is Precious Moyo but she uses the name Naledi. He explained that on the day the robbery took place, Moyo had gone to the caretaker to ask for some food and told the caretaker that the owners had left her without any food. She then requested that the caretaker help her fix a cupboard that she said was broken.

“He then went into the house to assist. While he was fixing the cupboard, two armed men approached him and tied up his legs and arms. They then threatened to shoot him if he did not co-operate,” alleged Ramovha.

He explained that the armed men then put the tied-up caretaker in the bathroom and proceeded to break the security gate to get upstairs. “They stole valuables to the value of R600 000 and the domestic worker did not return to work after that.”

According to the owner of the house who wishes to remain anonymous for safety reasons, the domestic worker had allegedly stolen the extra gate remote from the car and let the armed men into the property.

“We felt sorry for her, she told us she had a child to feed and send to school, so we hired her. And we did ask for documentation but she kept saying she would bring it but she didn’t,” said the owner.

The owner has warned his fellow community members to always ask for identification before hiring.
