Jameson and The Bioscope Outdoor Cinema are back
JOHANNESBURG – Jameson Irish Whiskey and The Bioscope Outdoor Cinema will be celebrating its BASA Award nomination with a double-bill screening, and you don’t want to miss it.

In the month of September, Jameson and The Bioscope Outdoor Cinema plan to bring you something old and something new. The Outdoor Cinema will be screening a brand-new film, Necktie youth. It tells the story of disaffected youth, bad drugs, bravado and suicide in a series of seemingly random events and colourful characters that express sentiments shared by all the kids in the city.
The second film will be Love the One You Love, an award winning film by SA filmmaker Jenna Bass.
That’s not all, this magnificent screening will be taking place on the rooftop of the 64-year-old Alex Theatre in Braamfontein. This iconic venue was recently restored to its modernist roots thanks to the guidance of property developer Adam Levy. Now it is a leading multi-dimensional venue and an inspired space that hopes to provide a platform for creative expression for another 60 years.
You can expect all the greatness of the Outdoor Cinema, with traditional popcorn and a Jameson Irish whiskey cocktail while you wait for the movies to begin, and food vendors will have scrummy treats on sale throughout the evening.
Outdoor Cinema starts at 5.30pm on 25 September with tickets available for R185 which includes popcorn and a welcoming cocktail.
