According to general manager of Montecasino, Glenn Joseph, the number of trees saved each year is measured by how much waste is recovered and diverted from landfill sites, which results in environmental benefits.
Montecasino has been green-centric and waste conscious since it was established, but through careful initiatives, they are seeing year-on-year increases in their recycling efforts, he added.
“Montecasino saved a total of 6 064 trees last year, 4 612 trees in 2013 and 2 640 trees in 2012,” Joseph said.
“These savings are a proud achievement for us as they endorse our commitment to educating staff, tenants and suppliers on the importance of protecting our environment and reducing our carbon footprint for immediate benefit and for future generations.”
