Boyfriend allegedly assaults girlfriend and her brother in Marlboro

MARLBORO – A man was recently arrested by Bramley police for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend and his girlfriend’s brother in Marlboro.

Spokesperson for Bramley police, Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said the man allegedly slapped his girlfriend. “She wanted to call her mother for advice after their baby came down with a fever,” explained Maphakela.

“Her boyfriend refused and when she resisted, he [allegedly] slapped her in the face.”

He said the girlfriend managed to call her aunt for assistance who came with the girlfriend’s brother.

Maphakela also said the girlfriend’s aunt and brother tried to speak to the man about getting medical assistance for the baby, but the man then allegedly hit his girlfriend’s brother on the head with a hammer.

He said they called Bramley police and the brother was taken to hospital for medical assistance.

According to Maphakela, it was not the first time the man allegedly assaulted his girlfriend. “He was previously arrested for assaulting his girlfriend,” he added.

The man was detained at Bramley Police Station and is expected to appear in court soon.
