JOHANNESBURG – It’s finally the weekend … the weekend before payday. If you have spare cash lying around, you may want to check these events out.

These events may not be cheap, but they are totally worth the splurge. Turbine Hall is hosting a fabulous underground dinner. We’re talking about a decadent three-course meal perfectly paired with a fine selection of vino. There will even be live entertainment – Phantom of the Opera style! Nothing beats early morning exercising – except if it’s at the Rise & Shine Festival. The morning will start off with some Haycyon yoga, followed by performances by local bands such as Sutherland, Go Barefoot, New Academics, Bye Beneco and more! Need a bit of a rib-tickling? We don’t blame you. Head over to Joburg Theatre and catch Riaad Moosa’s new comedy show The Best of Riaad Moosa. He’ll cover his journey into the international comedy scene and he’s reworked some material from three of his hilarious one man shows, Strictly Halaal, For the Baracka and Doctors Orders. Classic Movie Sunday at the Bioscope Independent Theatre will screen a cult classic. Empire Classic reminds us of a time when Renèe Zellweger was young and sprightly, Liv Tyler used her good looks to get ahead, and that one girl shaved her head, all taking place in a run-down record store.
