Final farewell to Klara

NORTHCLIFF – Friends and family gathered to pay their final farewells to the late Klara Göttert at the NG Aasvoël Congreation in Northcliff at 2pm on 15 August.

The atmosphere was somber as grievers filled the church hall, accompanied by the intimate and heartfelt sounds of Klara’s mother, Liesl, as she sang Jerusalem, with beauty and emotion.

The sermon, being led by father Jurie Schoeman, inspired members of the congregation by reciting lyrics from a Johnny Nash classic, titled There are more questions than answers, which read as follows:

There are more questions than answers

And the more I find out the less I know

Yeah, the more I find out the less I know

I’ve asked the question time and time again

Why is there so little of a moment

Oh, what is life, how do we live

What should we take and how much should we give?

In the eulogy pamphlet handed to mourners at the service, a personal message from the family read:

“You will live in our hearts for as long as the stars will shine and for as long as the universe exists. Our daughter, our sister, our niece, our grandchild, our best friend in the whole wide world. You were the ray of light that filled our days with joy.

“Go well, precious young Klara Liesl Christa Göttert.”
