Torah Academy Boys’ High win the U15 Independent Schools’ Soccer League

JOBURG - Torah Academy Boys’ High School in Orchards beat Summit College to win the U15 Independent Schools’ Soccer League.

Summit College scored twice in the first half to go into the break 2-0 up. However, Torah Academy’s Yehuda Goldberg netted twice in the second half for his team to level the scores at 2-2 with the game going into extra-time.

Goldberg bagged his hat-trick after his team was awarded a penalty to make it 3-2, and then teammate Mendy Ash put the game to bed with a double strike – one of which was considered to be the best goal of the season – to give Torah an emphatic 5-2 win.

The academy’s principal, Rabbi Yossi Chaikin said, “It is more than just a soccer victory. It also taught us all a powerful life lesson. Never give up from what appears to be a hopeless situation, and summon all your energy to recover and end up on top.”
