Pit bull covered in blood on back of bakkie

BEDFORDVIEW – A Facebook user posted horrific images of a bleeding pit bull being transported through Johannesburg on 12 August.

The dog can be seen with blood all over its fur.

According to Jaco Pieterse of the NSPCA, they are investigating the matter.

Pieterse said, “At this stage we are locating the owner of the bakkie in order to investigate the matter. There could be many reasons why the dog is in that state.”

The dog that was spotted covered in blood at the back of a bakkie.

According to Pieterse, the NSPCA is taking the matter seriously.

“The Facebook user who posted the images obtained information that the dog had been in [an alleged domestic] dog fight and the owner was transporting it to receive medical attention,” added Pieterse.
