What to expect at Sexpo 2015

JOBURG - Sexpo, the health and lifestyle exhibition is back, and this year it promises to be more explosive than ever.

Sexpo returns to Gallagher Estate in Midrand with the theme, Rio Carnival, and guests are invited to dress the part.

Although provocatively named, the show is not all about sex and does have lifestyle and health benefits for attendees.

“Visitors will have a great deal of exciting, interesting and informative shopping opportunities,” explained Phillipa Harvey, publicist for Sexpo South Africa.

“They will be educated in the finer traits relating to their sexual life.”

This year, the organisers are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of the much-anticipated annual event.

The Rio Carnival is most commonly known for its fiery party, but even more than that, it’s known for the sensual, barely-there outfits donned by the ladies. It is for this reason that the theme was chosen, allowing organisers to give the public an experience that is not only sexy, but vibrant and playful.

“It gives people the freedom to dress up and enter a fantasy world where they can leave their cares behind,” she explained.

The expo will also be hosting a number of comedy acts, including Stuart Taylor and Just Donovan, as well as a South African magic act, Magic Vegas.

In the spirit of Sexpo, there will also be performances by the men who made a splash in Fourways earlier this year – none other than the men of Magic Mike South Africa.

There will be a number of theatres, rooms and lounges which will each host different entertainment acts – which include industry experts – throughout the duration of the expo.

Sexpo aims to rekindle the fire in marriages and show budding love birds how to keep the flame burning.

There are more than 40 000 people expected to attend this year, making this a jam-packed event that isn’t to be missed.

Sexpo runs from 24 to 27 September.
