Last year it was Lamayne who won the Jack Daniels Music Scouts competition, before performing live with Kwesta and releasing her popular single, Ice Cream.
This year will see the third season of the much-anticipated talent competition, the nationwide search for authentic musical talent. Now the contest is back – bigger and better – with three new celebrity judges being announced.
The 2015 Jack Scouts will be none other than three of the South African music industry’s bests, DJ Speedsta, Culoe De Song and K.O.
From unsigned musicians to vocalists or DJs across the full spectrum of South African music genres, the nationwide search is open to anyone with musical flair.
The last two years have generated thousands of entries from across the country and this year sees a refreshed finalist phase.
Two finalists will be selected at the beginning of August and another two at the end of August, and all four will have the unique opportunity to star in their own music video profile.
The finalists will also benefit from a day of mentoring and rehearsals in front of the scouts to prepare them for the finale which will take place in October in Joburg.
The ultimate prize is up for grabs and this year’s winner will get to share a stage with international sensation T.I at Jack Daniel’s Boomtown Joburg on 17 October.
In addition, the winner will also receive a Dream Team SA deal to the value of R150 000 to start his or her career.
